Royal Bodyguard Room

The halberdiers of the bodyguard of the Kings of Bavaria were posted in this room. Its walls, faced in stucco marble of various colours, make this room very similar to the ‘Salle des Gardes’at Versailles. The pictures over the doors and the three large paintings depict Louis XIV’s campaigns. The ceiling painting shows the ‘Triumph of Mars’.
